PIRACY
Piracy is a growing menace that affects both commercial and private mariners alike. There are areas of the world where piracy is more prevalent than others, yet the problem is worldwide. Piracy is initiated for a number of reasons that include, but are not limited to, economic despair, territorialism, and even terrorism.

Trident Group offers the following services and technologies to help combat acts of piracy:

  • Armed Escort of Private or commercial Vessels
  • Vessel Based Protection of Vessel, Crew, Passengers, and Cargo When Underway, at Anchor, or Pierside
  • Newly Developed (US Patent Pending), Non-Lethal, “Anti-Piracy” Device to Fit Vessels Ranging in Size From Small Sailing Yachts to Full Size Super Tankers of 1000’ or More

There exists another problem that is associated with piracy that is commonly known as “Phantom Shipping”. This is the practice of contracting a vessel to a client for the purpose of transporting goods from one location to another. Once the ship is laden, it simply sails to a specific port, unloads and sells the cargo, re-paints, re-names, re-flags, and re-registers, then starts the process again.

Trident Group offers worldwide service to help defeat this practice and support clients in finding legitimate shipping as well as post theft recovery in the event of falling victim to a “Phantom Shipping” scheme.

Please contact the offices of the Trident Group for more detailed information concerning Piracy and Phantom Shipping services.
